I was glad to discover that children still amuse themselves with reel & wool and that a complete outfil, including lengths of multi-coloured skeins of wool, can be bought in the shops at the price of two shillings. We called this sort of work corc-y-reel – in England it is known as 'cork-work'. I understand it has now, under the name of Scotch knitting, a definite place in handicraft lessons in kindergarten classes.
